Privacy Policy

Mochi Money is designed as a local-first personal finance application for iOS and Android.

Data Collection

Mochi Money does not collect, sell, or share personal or financial data with the developer. Core financial records such as transactions, accounts, categories, budgets, recurring items, imported records, and preferences are stored locally on the user's device.

Files, OCR, Backup, and Export

Files are accessed only after the user chooses or captures them. Supported receipt or slip text recognition on Android runs on-device. Backup and export files leave the app only when the user explicitly creates, shares, saves, or imports them through system file services. Users are responsible for protecting backup files and passwords.

Platform System Features

Optional system features use platform-provided frameworks. On Apple platforms these may include Siri, Shortcuts, Widgets, Face ID, notifications, StoreKit, and system document services. On Android these may include app shortcuts, widgets, biometric or device-credential authentication, notifications, Google Play Billing, and the Android system document picker. Biometric templates and payment-card details are handled by the operating system or app store and are not received or stored by Mochi Money.

Purchases

When a store purchase is available, payment is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Mochi Money receives only the entitlement information needed to determine feature access; the developer does not receive the user's payment-card details.

Network Use

The app does not require a Mochi Money account or a developer-operated server for core financial functionality. Network access may be used by the operating system and app store for purchase entitlement, system services, or a cloud document provider explicitly selected by the user.

Data Deletion

Users can delete records from within the app. Deleting the app removes its local app data unless the user has retained a separate backup or export file.

Policy Changes

If Mochi Money's data handling changes, this policy and the relevant App Store or Google Play privacy disclosures will be updated.
